Innomesh v3.5.1

Innomesh v3.5.1 was released to production on 29/11/2024.

Here’s a summary of the new features, enhancements and bug fixes included in this release.

What’s New – November 2024

What’s New in Innomesh Portal

Smart Room Attributes – Smart Room Attributes allow you to effortlessly transform Innomesh room configurations and static data, deriving “attributes” that describe the room at a higher level. Examples of this are the number of displays in a room, the number of microphones in a room, or whether a room has facilities for BYOD. This highly configurable feature allows rooms to be more easily classified, room features to be more easily searched and identified, and enhances overall room supportability and insights.

Room Summary Views – This rework of the Room Information list page revolutionises how you interact with room information by letting you customise the data you see. This feature allows you to create personalised views focusing on the details most relevant to your needs.

Dynamic Data Import and Export – It is now possible to dynamically export and import data between Innomesh and external sources, allowing you to leverage data gathered by Innomesh in external databases and data lakes, and to keep Innomesh in sync with external data sources, such as Archibus.

App Integrations – Innomesh now features integrations with WebCheckout, which provides enrichment to Innomesh’s asset registry and asset management capabilities, and TeamDynamix (TDx), for high-visibility ticket management from your Innomesh Portal Hotlist.

Calendar Integrations – Calendaring systems can now be integrated into Innomesh, giving users visibility of room bookings and current availability status, useful for planning room maintenance or upgrade works.

Lecture Recorder Integrations – Lecture Recorder systems can now be integrated into Innomesh, to show current recorder states, current and upcoming scheduled recordings, and alerts on the Innomesh hotlist if a lecture recorder error occurs.

What’s New – The Details

Smart Room Attributes

Smart Room Attributes is an exciting and powerful new feature that allows you to leverage the existing static data from room configuration information to derive higher-level “attributes”. These attributes can be things like the number of displays or microphones in a room, or whether a room has BYOD facilities.

Innomesh administrators will have access to set up Smart Room Attributes from the Administration page of the Innomesh Portal. Creating a new Smart Room Attribute will allow users to match values, such as those mentioned above, using exact matches, regex, and/or logic and enumeration to automatically derive boolean, number and text values. This provides Innomesh users with an accurate, dynamic, data-based overview of the capabilities and features of any given room.

Room Summary Views

The Smart Room Attributes, along with existing room information, can then be sorted into views using the “Summary Views” tab in the administration page, making it easy to compare, sort and evaluate rooms from the Information page. The individual summary views can be seen at the top of the Room Information table as tabs

To create a summary view, go to Administration>Smart Room Attributes>Summary Views. Click on Create New, Give it a name and select the fields you would like to see on the Information page.

The Information page for each room will now contain both the regular room information and the Smart Room Attributes, allowing you to display a full overview of the room’s features.

Dynamic Data Import and Export

Note: This highly configurable feature requires our support to enable within your tenancy. If you’re interested in setting this up, please contact a member of the Innomate team to discuss your options.

Dynamic Data Import is an highly configurable feature that enables seamless integration with existing external data sources. With this capability, any room information managed in live external databases can be automatically synchronised with Innomesh. By mapping and importing data directly from external systems, you can ensure that both platforms stay perfectly aligned, eliminating the need for manual data entry into Innomesh and reducing the risk of inconsistencies. As external systems evolve, your Innomesh information will remain up-to-date and accurate.

In addition to the ability for data to be dynamically imported on a scheduled basis, There is an option to manually upload a CSV or JSON document to manually import a large amount of data right from your browser. This can be accomplished using the “Manual Import” button on the data import page.

Dynamic Data Export builds on this function, taking data management to the next level by enabling the export of data from Innomesh to external systems. This feature allows you to send any data captured in Innomesh to external sources for advanced processing, analysis, or integration with other workflows.

To manage and configure these processes, visit the Administration Page of the Innomesh Portal under the Data Import/Export section. From there, you can:

  • Define file naming schemes for imports and exports.
  • Specify file formats and fields to be included.
  • Set up a schedule for automated data synchronisation.

Both features utilise a communal data repository to securely hold data during transit.

Dynamic Data Import and Export offer a streamlined, automated solution for managing complex data ecosystems, making Innomesh an even more connected and efficient platform for your room and asset management operations.

App Integrations

WebCheckout – WebCheckout integration is now available! In Innomesh version 3.5.0, we introduced the Asset Information View, which provides a centralised view of your devices. With the new WebCheckout integration, this view now displays comprehensive status updates and detailed information for each asset, all within your Innomesh dashboard.

By combining Innomesh’s robust room management capabilities with WebCheckout’s advanced asset tracking features, you will now be able to manage rooms with more accuracy and precision than ever before possible, and you can take advantage of data already in WebCheckout to enhance the Insights Innomesh provides for you.

TeamDynamix – TeamDynamix integration is now available in Innomesh. With this integration, alerts generated by Innomesh can create tickets in TeamDynamix, eliminating the need for manual data entry. This ensures that every incident is captured accurately and tracked efficiently, allowing your team to focus on resolving issues rather than managing workflows.

By connecting Innomesh with TeamDynamix, you can enhance operational efficiency, reduce response times, and improve the overall management of IT and facility support tasks. Say goodbye to manual processes and experience faster, smoother incident resolution with Innomesh and TeamDynamix working together.

If you’re interested in enabling any of the above App Integrations, please contact a member of the Innomate team to discuss your options.

Calendar Integrations

Calendar Integration brings a frictionless, intuitive way to keep track of room availability from within your Innomesh Portal.

With this valuable update, you can quickly view daily room schedules in a simple, organised format, making it easy to check when a room is free or in use. Real-time notifications ensure you’re always up-to-date on room availability, which is especially helpful when you’re planning maintenance or scheduling support for the room.

Calendar Integrations are currently available in selected tenancies. If you’re interested in enabling this for your organisation, please contact a member of the Innomate team to discuss your options.

Lecture Recorder Integrations

Innomesh now offers powerful features for managing and monitoring lecture recorders, delivering detailed insights and streamlined control over your recording environment.

You can quickly view schedules for upcoming and in-progress recordings, ensuring complete visibility for maintenance and incident management planning. This integration includes a dedicated hotlist item so you and your team can quickly identify and address any lecture recording errors, minimising downtime and disruption. Access to the lecture recording management page is now more convenient than ever, allowing you to make adjustments or review details with just a few clicks.

Additionally, data from lecture recorders is fully integrated into the Asset Information page, providing a centralised and comprehensive view of each device’s status and details. A history feature is also available, allowing you to review past events and performance metrics to better understand device usage and resolve recurring issues effectively.

With these enhancements, Innomesh makes it easier than ever to manage lecture recording infrastructure, ensuring a reliable and frictionless experience for both administrators and users across your organisation.

Lecture Recorder Integrations are currently available in selected tenancies. If you’re interested in enabling this for your organisation, please contact a member of the Innomate team to discuss your options.

Additional Enhancements 🚀

Response Time for Pulse Devices

We’ve added a “Response Time” graph to the Asset Support view in the Assets dashboard in the Innomesh Portal, providing you with a clear visual representation of Pulse device performance metrics.

Asset Registry Table Enhancements

We’ve updated the Asset Registry main table view to truncate overly long text with an ellipsis (…), ensuring better readability and preventing disruptive table resising when navigating between pages.

We’ve improved the Room Information view experience in the Innomesh Portal by ensuring all hyperlinks open in a new browser tab, making navigation smoother and preserving the current workspace.

Pulse and Sight Room Configuration Standardisation

We’ve enhanced the Devices section in Innomesh Room Manager for Innomesh Pulse and Sight by replacing pagination with scrolling, creating a more intuitive and efficient user experience similar to the Innomesh Space experience.

Room Config Options Clean-Up

We’ve streamlined the Options menu in Innomesh Room Manager to display only tenant-relevant choices, reducing clutter and improving ease of use for administrators.

Microsoft Teams and Zoom Rooms Filtering

We’ve introduced filtering capabilities in Innomesh Room Manager so you can easily associate Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTRs) or Zoom Rooms with Innomesh spaces, making it simpler and more efficient to locate and assign specific rooms in environments with many options available across an environment.

Bug Fixes 🪲

  • In Room Manager, we’ve added safeguards to ensure that Room IDs do not exceed the maximum allowable length of 51 characters. They were getting a bit greedy.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where Pulse devices would fail to render when a room is loaded. They won’t be trying that again!
  • We’ve fixed an issue where the Room Manager CSV download function was not downloading the values for every column, because what good is a CSV download without all the values?
  • For Innomesh Sight, we’ve added a check into Room Manager’s “XPanel upload” feature to ensure that only files with the correct .c3p extension are accepted. C3PO, however, is still not allowed in.
  • In Room Manager, we’ve fixed a bug in Innomesh Pulse that was preventing IP addresses or hostnames defined in the device edit view from registering correctly.
  • In Room Manager, we’ve fixed a validation error where the room edit page was erroneously indicating that all required fields were empty. How very dare it.
  • In Room Manager, we’ve fixed an issue where room updates were not taking effect when only changes to XPanel or VNC settings were made.
  • In Innomesh Portal, we’ve fixed a bug in “Asset Support View” where the integer value 0 was being rendered as “false”. Classic integer attitude right there.
  • In Innomesh Portal, we’ve fixed a bug in the “Asset Registry” mass edit feature where existing asset attribute values were being wiped when new attribute values were added. We searched all local wormholes and located the missing data in Multiverse 44.
  • We’ve added a specific permission in the RBAC engine for the ability to launch XPanels and Web Panels from within Innomesh Portal. Previously, users with Portal-only access were not able to launch XPanels or web panels. Now, they’re free to do so at their leisure, if you allow them to.
  • In Innomesh Portal’s “Room Information View”, we’ve added lazy loading to enhance load time of schematics, photos, etc. Nobody has time to wait around for massive amounts of data to load!
  • In Innomesh Portal, we’ve fixed random cases of table column filters not rendering at the correct width. Random width begone.
  • We’ve made a small change so that the “Notes” column is now shown in the Innomesh Portal Hotlist “Dashboard View”, which is nice.
  • In Innomesh Portal, Hotlist column sorting now works correctly when the “group by room” option is enabled. Sorting sorted.
  • In Innomesh Portal, we’ve fixed a Chrome-specific issue where VNC links were erroneously deemed “unsafe”. Anxiety reduced.
  • In the Innomesh Portal’s “Asset Support View”, the breadcrumb navigation has now been updated to make navigating back to the “Asset Registry” main page more intuitive. Never get lost again.
  • In the Innomesh Portal “Asset Registry”, we’ve fixed an issue where user preferences for column visibility was not saved properly. Frustration removed.
  • Multiple front-end and back-end security updates have been applied to keep the baddies at bay.
  • Removed Herobrine.
