Space CE v2.18.0 Release Notes

Official Space CE Software Release Date: 02 April 2026

This release note is a preliminary draft and is subject to change based on final regression testing.

Note: Regarding New Features And Enhancements Availability

The features in this release have been enabled for a specific group of clients only. Please note that an update to the user interface may be required, to enable this feature in your tenancy. If you are interested in these features, please reach out to your Account Manager. Our team will then evaluate your tenancy to confirm feature compatibility, identify any necessary user interface work, and determine if additional costs apply.

Features & Enhancements

New Settings For Auxiliary AV Destinations:

  • Follow Last Routed Auxiliary: When this is enabled, routing a source to any auxiliary destination will also route it to this auxiliary destination.
  • Only Follow Sources With Audio: This feature ensures that the auxiliary destination only follows a route if the source has audio. If a video-only source is sent to “All Destinations,” this specific output will remain unchanged.

New Source Deselection Behaviours:

  • Decoder Audio Break: Only break/cut the audio stream, leaving the video active.
  • Decoder Video Break: Only break/cut the video stream, leaving the audio active.

New Actions For Input Switches In AV Sources:

  • Preset Recall: Users can now trigger specific audio configurations, such as recalling a DSP named control or a block ID, directly through an input switch.
  • Stream Set: Users can now set the decoder’s audio and video stream to the predefined stream value.

New Settings For Pods

  • Mute Pods Audio When Lecturer Is Sharing: When this is enabled, the student pods will be automatically muted when the lecturer is sharing a source to one of their non-preview destinations to prevent audio overlap.

Mutually Exclusive AV Sources:
AV sources can now be grouped as “mutually exclusive.” This ensures that users cannot accidentally share multiple sources from the same group at once.

Custom UI Visibility for AV Sources:
Users now have granular control over whether the AV Source should appear on the user interface, Sources can be set as always visible, restricted to either the physical Touch Panel or the Web Panel, or hidden entirely from all user interfaces to simplify the selection menu.

Available Destinations in AV Sources:
Users can now restrict AV sources to specific destinations. For example, if a Laptop source is assigned only to the Left Display and Preview, the option to route it to the Right Display will be automatically hidden from the touch panel. This ensures a cleaner user interface by displaying only valid routing options.

Conditional Routing:
Users can now define conditions on AV sources and input switches that control whether a route is executed. When a source is routed, the system evaluates the condition – if the condition is met, the route proceeds as normal. If the condition is not met, the route is prevented. Click here to know more about Conditional Routing.

Additional Ways To Control Blinds:
Beyond standard relay control, users can now control the blinds by recalling Dynalite Presets or setting a specific value on the CBus Fader.

Custom UI Visibility for Lighting Toggles and Lighting Faders:
Users can now hide specific lighting toggles or faders from the user interface by enabling the Invisible flag in the Lighting Section. This allows for a decluttered experience by only showing the controls relevant to the end-user.

LED Controls on a Qbic Touch Panel:
Users can utilise Macros to trigger the built-in LED lights on Qbic Touch Panels. This allows the panel to change colour or flash to provide instant visual cues. Click here and search for “Macro Actions – Led Controls on Touch Panels” to learn more.

Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS) / Firetrip:
Space CE now supports EWIS. Triggers can now be received via Digital IO or Q-Sys GPIO devices.

Recording Behaviour On Room Shutdown In The Recorder Section:
Users can customise how the active recording should behave when the room is powered off. Eg: If this field is set to “Stop”, Space CE will stop the active recording when the room is powered off. We support 3 options, which are Stop, Pause and Remain Unchanged.

Transition Time For Room Startup and Shutdown:
The duration of the loading bar during room startup and shutdown can now be configured in the User Interfaces section.

Media Player Controls:
Space CE now supports direct control of Apple TV via IR.

Sensor Sensitivity:
Users can now set the sensor sensitivity via Macros. For example, the user can set the ultrasonic and infrared sensitivities and the trigger timeout for a Crestron CEN-ODT-C-POE occupancy sensor.

Drivers

Driver Updates & Enrichments

Bluestream Usb Matrix (Telnet):
Enhanced the stability by implementing a persistent “keep-alive” check. Space CE now automatically detects connection loss and re-establishes communication without manual intervention.

Crestron NVX (HTTPS):
Enhanced to support DM-NVX-384 and introduced active polling for video sync states across all available inputs.

Epson Projector (TCP and ComPort Over TCP):
Added support for DVI input selection.

LG STB (TCP):
Added support for antenna, cable and satellite channel settings.

NEC LCD (TCP and ComPort Over TCP):
Added support for USB-C input selection.

Panasonic LCD (TCP and ComPort Over TCP):
Added support for DisplayPort and USB-C inputs.

QSC Bluetooth Audio Wall Plate (UDP):
Increased responsiveness by polling every 4 seconds.

QSC Q-SYS DSP (TCP):
Updated to support advanced audio fader configurations, including Signal and Phantom Power properties.

Visionary Encoder/Decoder (HTTP):
Reduce the polling cycle to 5 minutes for device information and video sync status.

Vitec IPTV (HTTPS):
Expanded channel selection capabilities to support numeric channel inputs.

WolfVision VZ Series Document Cameras (TCP):
Added support for discrete position zooming.

Bugfixes

  • Time-based auto-shutdown now also shuts down the pods.
  • Fixed input sync detection for switcher devices so that source selection actions are only triggered when a valid signal is detected.
  • Resolved a synchronisation issue within combined spaces. The primary room’s now accurately unlinks when secondary rooms are shut down.
  • Upon room startup, the system now immediately retrieves and displays the current mute and volume levels for all pods, ensuring the user interface is perfectly synchronised with the DSP.
  • Refined the IPTV control logic to automatically clear previous channel selections after using the ‘Up/Down’ controls on the User Interface.
  • Upon room startup, the system now accurately notifies and updates all Bluetooth object states. This ensures the user interface perfectly matches the hardware status the moment the system initialises.
  • Resolved an issue where Bluetooth state updates could trigger an infinite loop, resulting in a more stable and responsive control experience.
